WASHINGTON, September 25, 2000--The World Bank welcomes the contribution by the government of Belgium of US$8.8 million (BEF 418,677,914) to the Trust Fund for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC).
The agreement between the World Bank, which administers the Trust Fund, and Belgium was signed today in Prague by Didier Reynders, Minister of Finance of Belgium, and Sven Sandstrom, Managing Director of the World Bank, at the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and IMF.
